Peace Grows

Design a product to commemorate WWI's Centenary to be sold through IWM retail channels.

How can we design a product that inspires respect for the fallen, without nostalgia?

During WWI Britain was home to over 250,000 refugees, 16,000 arriving in a single day.  I wanted to show the similarities between the victims of conflict then and the current global refugee crisis.

My decision to design a pair of gardening gloves where "for each pair bought, another is sent to refugees of global conflict"  is in the hope of creating a positive effect in the present, whilst also encouraging the user to reflect on the past.
